Texas De Brazil To Begin Dishing Out Endless Menu Of Beef At Easton

The place card is green for Texas de Brazil.
Brazilian steakhouses, also called churrascarias, are known for endless offerings of meats. Each diner is given a card — green signifies a go for another cut of meat, and red means stop.
“We focus on the overall experience,” spokeswoman Candyce Hedlund said. “You don’t just come here for the dinner. It’s service, the overall atmosphere, the food, the interaction with the gauchos.”
The menu features a broad selection of grilled meats that are carved tableside by gaucho servers. The salad bar has more than 50 choices, and the wine and cocktail lists have a South American flair.
Dinner will be $42.99 for the full treatment or $24.99 for the light dinner, which is the salad bar only. Lunch hours and prices still are being determined.
The restaurant promises a vibrant atmosphere, not just with its staff and meals, but with the dining space, painted in vibrant colors and adorned with tropical plants, wrought-iron chandeliers, paintings and mirrors.
“There’s a lot of background,” Hedlund said.
The 6,700-square-foot restaurant includes a main dining room, as well as private dining and a patio and will seat up to 180 guests.
Hedlund declined to provide sales projections. The company spent $4 million to renovate the space once filled by Martini Park.
It will become the 26th Texas de Brazil for the chain, founded in 1998, which opened in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. on Friday. Hedlund said development of the Florida restaurant delayed the Easton opening.
The Columbus launch leads into a busy 2013 for the chain, which plans to open in Pittsburgh in January and Houston in February. Other restaurants are slated for New York; Syracuse, Albany and Buffalo, N.Y.; and Birmingham, Ala.
Hedlund said Cleveland is a possibility next year.
