The area’s first location of the Texas de Brazil steakhouse chain opens Tuesday (8/5) at Crossgates Mall in Guilderland. It is in the former Macy’s space, on the lower level of the north side of the mall.

The churrascaria-style restaurant features 16 cuts of grilled meat carved tableside and a 50- to 60-item salad and starter bar. The all-you-can-eat meals cost $42.99 per person ($24.99 for salad bar only, half price for kids age 6 to 12, $5 for 3- to 5-year-olds). For those who don’t want to strap on the feedbag, there’s a four-item bar menu.

Hours are 5 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday and 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday.

Texas de Brazil has been in development at Crossgates for more than two years. The area’s first such restaurant, Carmine’s Brazilian Grill, opened in downtown Albany in March 2012, turned into an Italian restaurant after nine months and closed for good in February.
